Ashley Graduates

Ashley's graduation was so much fun.  Family came in to help her celebrate.  I saw the challenge for Sketchy Thursdays and new I had to use the graduation  picture I had taken for this layout.  I, obviously, chose to use the school  colors for the page.  Hard to believe that 18 years has come and gone...but now it is off to  college classes for Ashley.  She is planning to major in Early Childhood education.
  •  Wishing Ashley a great career ahead of her...and looking forward to watching her blossom into a young adult

Thank you card

Cards June 2010

This ia a Father's Day card.  I enjoyed putting the colors together and trying to use the vellum in a way that would not be noticable.  I will hand deliver this next week.

Tribute to a wonderful young lady

-Using the Sketchy Thursday's layout and the color prompt from taking a personality test, (that claims my color is red),  this is what I came up with.
-This is on my oldest daughters wedding day.  Her colors were red and white, so I felt this would be appropriate for the "red" prompt as well.
- She is also the one who made the "button flower" I placed in the lower left next to the picture.
-She is so talented and so bright.  This page is a tribute to the wonderful young lady she has become.

Been a while...getting back into the crafty thing now that I have more time

Diana Fisher suggested we play along with the Paper Tree House prompt for making a birthday card.  They issued a challenge to fashion a card after a card they had seen in Target.   This has been created for my 82 year old mother for her birthday.  I will hand deliver the card in just about a week.  Can't wait to take a vacation to see her and my family.  Happy Crafting !!!!

BOM - First Letter of your last name

I used the Sketchy Thursday Sketch and the prompt from the "Book of Me" at Creative Scrapbooking Diva's.  I love the blue print paper...one of my all time faves, so it was easy to come up with coordinating colors.  Lori, from the BOM had us use the first letter of our first name and add embellishments to accent.  Then she wanted us to combine words or phrases to describe ourselves.   It was easy to embellish, since Sketchy Thursdays suggests embellishment placement already.

Sketchy Thursdays-BOM 2

This page is the second in a series for the Book of Me challenge on the Creative Scrapbooking Divas.  I was celebrating my second birthday.  The challenge requested that we are under 4 years of age for this page.
I combined the challenge with the Sketchy Thursdays sketch.  The picture I have worked perfectly.  I was concerned about using a black and white photo in a scrapbook page, but this seemed to work...especially since the sketch allowed me to keep it simple.

Ashley 2010

I knew I had to do this page with Ashley's photo's from her senior pictures.  It was an adventure for her, Ella, and her dog "Baby".  Her brother was so nice to drive two hours to bring Ashley's niece to be in the photo's with her.  Ashley keeps telling me that she plans to take Ella shopping when Ella gets old enough.  Actually,  Ashley can hardly contain herself...telling me that she wants to be the "cool aunt"  that does things with her.
I hope she always remembers the photo shoot and wearing matching outfits for their picture.

I couldn't decide which one...?????

The Sketchy Thursday card was soo much fun that I couldn't stop with just one.  So, now I am leaving it up to you to decide which goes into the challenge.
I needed to make the "From all of us" card for several of us to send to California.  My MIL suggested the "From all of us" idea for the sentiment of the card.  We all love him so I had to put hearts somewhere on the card.
The other card was for my husbands birthday this past weekend.  He loved the card, but I think my daughter may have shown me up with her's.  She had some lovely things to express in her card...very kind hearted young lady.  He may have felt more of a heartstring pull with her card...in my book, that's quite alright !!!!

Detroit Tigers

I loved the Sketchy Thursday template for this Detroit Tigers page.
I had decided that I was going to make a shadow box of the Detroit Tigers to give as a gift.
The gift is for my husbands aunt, who is a die-hard fan of the Tigers, so when I saw the sketch for this week I knew that I could make the perfect shadow box  for her.

My favorite season

I love the Fall.  It is my very favorite season.  We went with friends to an Apple orchard this past fall.  We really enjoyed picking the apples and watching David climb the tree to help us get more apples down.   Our two dogs enjoyed walking through the orchard as we found the apples we wanted.  The smells of fall and the colors of the leaves make this season the most enjoyable for me.

Ashley & Baby

This scrapbook page was done using a copy of the picture Ashley will give to her Grandfather for Christmas.  She chose this picture because her grandfather used her getting a dog as an excuse for getting a dog for himself.  "If Ashley can have a dog, then I should have one too".  I always want her to remember the fun times she has had with him and some of the silliness they shared.

Merry Xmas

It's that time of year again...and getting my cards ready now is a big, fat bonus for me.  If I wait much longer I will run out of time to get them done.  I used the template from Sketchy Thursdays to design the cover.  Great template to use these little xmas icons.  Thanks again to the design team at Sketchy Thursdays

World Card Making Day

I made three new cards for World Card Making Day.  I needed to make some since I have a few birthdays coming up soon.  I usually wait until the last minute, so this helped me get a headstart on them before the holidays get into full swing.  I guess I better get going on those Christmas cards too....

Jelly Belly for the "second chance candy prompt"

I really enjoyed making this scrapbook page.  Jelly belly candy is so bright and cheerful...it just kept me smiling the whole time I was making the page.   One of the reasons my daughter and I love this candy is that you can combine flavors to get yet a different flavor.  And now that they have added the Coldstone ice cream flavors to the mix...the rootbeer float can actually taste more like a rootbeer float!!!!  Thanks to the team at Sketchy Thursday's for coming up with this prompt...great fun!!!

The magical season of believing anything can happen...
Always excited and ready for the holiday's.  And, as you can see, the little girl with the dramatic flair who keeps everyone believing........

Growing up

These pictures are some of my favorites from when these two were growing up. Seeing the pictures makes me miss that time in our lives. So sweet and lovable...can't help but have a feeling of pride when I think of how they've grown and where they are now in their lives.

mom & me

This "mom & me" scrapbook page is in remembrance of my mothers 60 th birthday. She shared her cake with her grandson, Greg, who was celebrating his 6th birthday the day before hers. Greg thought it was so funny that you could turn the cake around and it showed a "06" for his age :) !!!

Hoppy Halloween

Halloween is one of the best holidays !!! My favorite time of year. The way children light up when they know they are going to get dressed up into whatever costume they want :) Ashley made the perfect bunny...and the inquisitive face she made is priceless. Sharing Halloween with her siblings was also priceless. Time shared is always priceless :)

This sketchy Thursday scrapbook page is of my last visit to see my grandmother before she passed away. She was one of the sweetest, most compassionate women I have ever met. She was a woman to emulate. She is missed by many...
